Carob Powder

Carob powder, also called carob flour, is an alternative for cocoa powder. It is made from the dried, roasted and freshly ground carob pods from the carob trees. It looks and feels like cocoa powder and is often used as a natural sweetener in cakes, pies and cookies. It is sweet and has a unique taste. Included is a recipe for Mas de Mingall's favorite carob cake!
